Via Boston Comics Roundtable, which got involved via Papercut Zine Library, I am helping with this year's...

The show is moving to a new location in Kenmore Square (better location, I think), and tables are reasonable. It's coming up pretty soon now: September 20-21. So... bring your stuff and sell it...( Register here. ) ... or come and buy other people's stuff. Or just come.

Oh yeah, that's the first draft of a poster I'm doing for the show. I'm going to do a little more work on it.

New Palindrama [Jul. 11th, 2008|10:33 pm]

Almost forgot to post this week's... It's my five months late Valentine's Day Palindrama... or 7 months early.

Before I let you see the Palindrama, though, I want to tell you about INBOUND, the anthology of the Boston Comics Roundtable.

It's good. I drew a long story in it. It's got a very gorgeous cover by [info]shiru and a story by [info]chiefsheepy That's some talent, there!  And there's other good comics in it too.

And the best part is, YOU can buy it RIGHT HERE.

Oh and by the way, the second issue will be out in a couple months, and that one will have works by [info]mreidsma and other luminaries.

OK, here's the palindrama:

I drew it in this format first, but I think it's better horizontal. What do YOU think?

More Palindramas.... [Jan. 25th, 2008|11:26 am]
I come up with a lot of these short, two word palindromes, usually not enough for a cartoon, but in this case, I smushed two together: Llama mall & Goth tog, and came up with...

For this one, I also took a few palindromes that couldn't really stand on their own, and strung them together to make a little story. Somehow, an old-fashioned style seemed appropriate (as well as making it VERY easy to color):

I'm not really much of an LJ-er. All I do is post my Palindramas, which I do once a week, and usually I forget for a few days. This time, I forgot for a whole week, so there are two new Palindramas to post. Last week's was:

(The palindrome is at the bottom, it sort of gets lost in this format).

Another reason I'm a bad LJ-er is I hardly ever check in and read my "friends" page. And when I do, I never can take the time to catch up, so I miss plenty. There is so much good shit on my "friends" page, too. There is always something good from [info]reidsrow and [info]boxbrown. In my lame perusal of a couple pages this week I saw things I really liked by [info]lucylou and [info]tymmi. But I miss a lot more good stuff. Anyway, here is this week's Palindrama:

I've also gotten two pieces of Palindramas Fan Art in the past few weeks. This makes me very proud. Here they are. The first is by "Jeff S.":

And this, by Ed Gedeon:

...aaand THIS week's Palindrama! [Nov. 20th, 2007|09:21 pm]

As I'm sure you're all aware, the actual "Jim Nabors Show" ran for only one season -- 1978. I tried to stay true to the period in the costuming -- did I hit the mark, or is Rob and Edna's attire a few years out of style?

Palindrama fan art!!! [Oct. 18th, 2007|12:02 pm]
This is exciting. What a thrill to find something like this in your email at the end of the day!! It's by ISIS, a Mexican cartoonist. She does a very funny strip called "Newton y su puntito" (Newton and his Little Dot) As you can see, the basis of this palindrama is (blush) MY name...

I ran into [info]bozoartist at SPX! Among other claims to fame, he is well known for having drawn fan art for LUMMOX .

By the way:I hurriedly finished up the fourth (and final) mini of Lummox in time for SPX -- though I only managed to print up a few copies before the show. Anyone want a copy of the comic? Selling for 3 bucks or trading for YOUR mini. Here's the cover: .
By the way, part 2:I also met [info]boxbrown for the first time at SPX. Met?? We stood next to each other for 2 days, and slept in the same bed the first night!!!
I also met [info]sallybloodbath and [info]kidglidden, and I saw some of my other "friends," but was too shy to introduce myself.
Mainly, though, SPX 2007 will no doubt be remembered by future historians as
the debut of the
Boston Comics Roundtable
, at whose table was, among others, [info]reidsrow, [info]chiefsheepy, and [info]shiru. [info]junkyard was there in spirit.
There are lots of ups and downs in the course of a convention -- emotional, physical, mental, and otherwise... but I loved it.
